How do I book a lesson or driving test?

What is included in the lesson price?

A 60-minute automatic lesson is $80; a 60-minute manual lesson is $90. The appropriate lesson vehicle is provided. Lesson pickup is arranged across Palmerston.

Before booking, contact us to confirm pickup timing, whether travel is included in the 60 minutes and any pickup charges that apply to your arrangements.

What does the practical test price cover?

The listed practical test price is $180 for automatic or $200 for manual. A preparation lesson is a separate booking.

Where do I meet my instructor?

Palmerston lesson pickup is arranged with your instructor. Learners from Humpty Doo, Coolalinga, Howard Springs, Virginia and Bees Creek use an agreed Palmerston meeting point.

Practical tests have separate meeting arrangements. Attend only the location confirmed for your booking.

What licence do I need for lessons?

Bring a current licence that permits you to drive the relevant vehicle in the Northern Territory. This may be a learner licence, a suitable provisional or full licence for refresher lessons, or an eligible overseas licence.

If MVR has issued you an NT interim licence, tell us before booking and follow its conditions. If unsure, confirm your eligibility with MVR and contact us before booking.

What do I need before booking a practical test?

You must hold a current licence appropriate to your test and meet MVR eligibility requirements.

Learner-to-provisional pathway: hold your learner licence continuously for at least six months.
Interstate licence holders: contact MVR to arrange your transfer and confirm your eligibility.
Overseas licence holders: have MVR confirm your transfer requirements. If testing is required, pass the required theory test and obtain an NT interim licence before the practical test.
